It’s been a three day weekend celebrating two for this one! Although no one had a Friday off, we’ve made sure to sing and celebrate from Friday and hopefully a second time today on this sunny (but very windy) Sunday. There’s a lot going on in our world and maybe even more in the outside world too than the other three ever had. From my work schedule, to the the rest of this crew’s school and soccer schedules, to crazy weather in all the places we visit and expected at home here too.
We’ve kept his birthday very low-key with Friday night birthday singing and two mini red velvet cupcakes perfectly sized for this guy with a candle on each. He had the candles out before we finished the song (see Brookie Birthday Song). And his only gifts weren’t wrapped, but were two of his favorite things right now, two Mickey Mouse books (Who’s Birthday is it? and Road Trip). He loves to read AND he loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse both books were a hit for all the guys!
We would have loved to head to Disney for his birthday since we missed it this summer, the hurricane has it closed on his Birthday weekend (and Disney never closes, like ever!) This guy doesn’t seem to mind that he only had books for his birthday or mini cupcakes. (And don’t get me started about how many toys this house has… so travel and family time is my preferred birthday celebration… the travel will have to wait for better weather and less chaos.) It will be a football and chocolate cupcakes kind of Sunday with extended family for more birthday singing as our city preps for what could be hurricane weather coming our way this week.
